Meet Shah Atiqur Rahman, Software Engineering Manager, Listing Intelligence. We talked to him about his role in leading our Listing Intelligence (Search) team and the ways in which he makes a difference at Realtor.com. Here's what he stated: Q. Tell us about your team. A. We own nine backend search services that are core to the company's success. One of the most important is the Search API, which powers results on the Search Results page. Our tech stack includes Node.js, TypeScript, Python, Elasticsearch, GraphQL, Docker, EKS and AWS artifacts. We also work closely with the Artificial intelligence group to bring AI-driven features to the customer experience, such as search relevancy improvements and AI-powered search. We're a collaborative, friendly group that prioritizes strong onboarding and constant assistance. New employee are directed through the ramp-up procedure up until they're positive taking complete ownership of their work. Each employee is practical to other team members when dealing with challenges. We value a where wins are popular freely, and obstacles are owned together. We also make time for team-building, whether it's virtual hangouts or in-person get-togethers, to keep sociability strong. Q. What's your biggest achievement so far at Realtor.com? A. I'm most proud of the expert development I've accomplished because signing up with Realtor.com as a Software Application Engineer over 7.5 years back. Throughout this journey, I've developed deep domain expertise, remained current with developing industry practices, and consistently dealt with modern technologies. My dedication to constant learning and effect caused my promotion to Staff Software Engineer and my role as one of the team's technical leads. Most just recently, I've handled the responsibility of being individuals Leader for the team-an exciting next action that allows me to support others in their development while continuing to drive technical direction. I take pride in the reality that my long period here hasn't slowed my growth-instead, it's been a platform for me to evolve technically and handle greater leadership Q. What should someone aiming to join us in #Tech understand? A. Realtor.com provides amazing technical challenges, from large-scale data dealing with to real-time search, personalization, and AI/ML integration. My team culture is highly collective, with a strong focus on mentorship, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional team effort. #Engineers frequently get opportunities to own critical and tough projects, work cross-functionally, and step up into leadership or specialized functions.
